Vietnam ranks third at ASEAN badminton tourney
(VOV) -Vietnam secured third place in the medal tally at the ASEAN Badminton Tournament in Cairo after losing to Malaysia on November 10.
Indonesia won first prize at the tournament, which was jointly held by Vietnamese and Malaysian Embassies in Egypt.
In the mixed doubles event, Vietnam and Malaysia shared second prize.
The event, aiming to strengthen solidarity among ASEAN members, attracted 48 players who are officials and diplomats from Southeast Asian countries.
Present among spectators were a large number of Southeast Asian people and students in Cairo who greeted the players with warm applause for their fairplay spirit.
