The ceremony was attended by the embassy’s staff, the Vietnamese delegation to the UNESCO and representatives from Vietnamese agencies in France.
Vietnamese ambassador to France Nguyen Dinh Bin said the event is of great significance as it took place after the 10th National Party Congress reaped successful results. In addition, the country saw great achievements last year, especially results of 20 years of Doi Moi (Renewal) process, integrating Vietnam into the world with equal position and unprecedented prospects for development in future.
On the occasion, Mr Bin asked all the embassy’s staff and Vietnamese agencies in France to actively contribute to the comprehensive renovation process, help the country escape the under-developed status, and realise the goal of a rich people, a strong country and an equitable, democratic and civilised society.
Mr Bin also launched a campaign "Following Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example" and an emulation movement in 2007 among the embassy’s staff.
*** The same day, the Vietnamese embassy in Egypt also held a ceremony to mark the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Communist Party (February 3/1930-February 3. 2007).
