The northwestern mountain province of Son La has unveiled a scheme to plant an additional 20 landmarks along its borderline with Laos next year.
At a meeting on December 5, provincial authorities announced that the planting will be part of broader efforts to transform the border area into one of friendship, stability and development.
By 2012, the entire border will be demarcated by a total of 125 landmarks.
