At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations, Huynh Minh Thien, and the Cuban General Consul in HCM City, Gabriel Francisco Perez Tarrau, expressed their delight at fine development of the traditional friendship and ties between the two countries over the past 50 years.

The activities are a valuable opportunity for the two peoples to review their long-lasting friendship and for Vietnamese people to gain a better understanding of Cuba.

The exchange provided the chance for senior officials and former students who worked and studied in Cuba to recall memories of the country.

Under the programme’s framework, a photography exhibition was also held to introduce Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic ties, as well as Cuba and its people.
