Free Tet travel for poor workers

(VOV) -As many as 600 workers at industrial zones in the southern province of Binh Duong were provided with free bus service on February 6.

This was part of the scheme sponsored by the provincial Federation of Labour to help workers from the northern and central provinces enjoy family reunion during the Tet holiday.

Pham HuyenTrang working at Binh Duong industrial zone expressed her gratitude to the Federation for offering her free travel back to Nghe An province in central Vietnam.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Bui ThanhNhan said they have arranged more than 10 buses to transfer workers to their home towns, even up to Lang Son and Yen Bai provinces.

The total cost of free travel service for poor workers is more than VND600 million, he added.

The same day, the southern Dong Nai province and the Dong Nai Food Industrial Corporation (DOFICO) co-organised a festival to wrap 7,200 “banhtet” (cylindrical glutinous rice cakes) that will be donated to the poor, orphans, workers and island soldiers.
