Development Triangle seeks investment in agriculture
VOV.VN - Senior officials from the Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam Development Triangle gathered in Dak Nong Province November 1 for a meeting to discuss the development of agriculture in the region.
Agriculture plays a profound role in the region’s economy and the inability to attract sizable foreign investment to modernize this segment of the economy and basic infrastructure is holding back growth.
He acknowledged his appreciation for the support of development partners, especially Japan and the Asian Development Bank over recent times and proposed submitting five new investment projects for their approval.
A representative from the Vietnam delegation presented a report on an economic status of ongoing investment projects. Heads of the three delegations agreed to submit an additional project to the 9th CLV Summit in Cambodia later this year for approval.
With that, they also listened to a report on the implementation of a website of the development triangle area and a draft report of a joint coordination committee.
At the conclusion of the meeting, they agreed Vietnam will host the next meeting of the joint coordination committee of the Development Triangle region at a time and place to be determined later.
