The eighth Vietnam Glory Progamme took place in Hanoi on August 15 to honour individuals and teams that have made significant achievements in the renewal (Doi moi) process.

The event was organized by Labour (Lao Dong) newspaper, Radio the Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television and the A Chau company in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung and Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Dang Ngoc Tung.

The award winners included Labour Hero Nguyen Quang Mau, Director General of the Viglacera Ha Long Company, Labour Hero Tran Van Sen, President of the Administration Board of Huong Sen Compan; the Apatite Vietnam Limited Liability company; and Le Thi Minh Vuong, a disadvantaged pupil who recorded top marks in the 2010 entrance exam to Hanoi Medical College.

Chu Duc Tin, a worker from a water facility in Thai Binh province, was honoured at the event. He said the Vietnam Glory awards have encouraged people and workers from all walks of life to strive to contribute more to society.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hung praised the winners for their achievements and declared that they epitomize Vietnam’s youth strength.
