Vietnam’s local rubber industry shipped 278,000 tonnes of rubber abroad in the first half of this year, an increase of 43 percent from last year, reported the Ministry of Trade.

Rising world prices and the recovery of the global tyre industry have contributed to the increase in export revenue, said the ministry, which has set a target of exporting 600,000 tonnes of rubber for a projected total revenue of US$870 million this year.
