Vietnam tops SE Age Group Swimming Championships

VOV.VN - After a three-day competition, Vietnam bagged 58 gold, 39 silver and 22 bronze medals, to rank first at the Southeast Asian Age Group Swimming Championships which wrapped up on July 8 in Laguna, the Philippines.

Thailand came second with 21 gold, 22 silver and 18 bronze medals while Singapore ranked fourth with 7 golds, 14 silvers and 15 bronzes.

Tran Hung Nguyen who competed in the 14-15 age group, won a haul of 20 medals, including 18 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze and broke two tournament records in the process.

Nguyen Huy Hoang continued to show his outstanding talent in the 16-18 age group by taking 6 golds and setting three records.

In the women’s event, Tran Ngoc Thi snatched 8 golds and Nguyen Diep Phuong won 5 golds.
