More Russian tourists flock to Ninh Thuan

(VOV) -Since November 2012 the south-central coastal province of Ninh Thuan has attracted more than 550 Russian tourists who stayed between 10-13 days.

The province expects the number will rise to 570 by the end of month, according to the Ninh Thuan Department of culture, Sports and Tourism.

Ninh Thuan is blessed with natural vistas like Vinh Hy Bay and priceless historical artifacts such as Poklong Garai Tower. It is famously central to the culture of the Cham ethnic minority.

It also boasts a number of traditional craft villages, including Bau Truc ceramic village and My Nghiep silk weaving village.

Provincial authorities are urging both domestic and foreign investors to expand their involvement in the region’s tourism projects, especially regarding human resource training and luxury resorts.

In 2012, Ninh Thuan commissioned a series of promotional campaigns as a means of attracting more international tourists—including those from key markets such as Russia and Japan.

The province forecasts enticing around 950,000 total visitors by the end of the year, a 16 percent increase on 2011.
