At least 3 dead in helicopter crash in Malaysia

Three bodies have been found following a helicopter crash at Semenyih town in Selangor, Malaysia, on April 4 afternoon.

Malaysia’s former Minister for Science and Technology Jamaluddin Jarjis was believed to be one of those who died in the crash. The search for three more passengers of the ill-fated helicopter is still ongoing.

A spokesman of the rescue team from the Civil Defence Department (JPAM) said the search operation for the other victims was being intensified.

In addition, the JPAM was waiting for the police forensics unit to confirm the identity of the victims, he told Bernama.

The helicopter, believed to be owned by a private company, was en route from Kuantan to Subang when it crashed and caught fire at about 4.55pm. Six people were believed to be on board the helicopter.
