Work on Asia’s largest instant coffee processing plant, a wholly Indian investment, started on September 3 in the Central Highland province of Dak Lak.

Covering an area of 24 hectares, the US$18 million plant will have an output of 10,000 tonnes of products per year.

Once it is operating in July, 2011, its annual turnover from domestic consumption and export is expected to reach US$27 million and the figure is expected to increase to US$40.5 million by 2014.

At present, Dak Lak province has over 184,500 hectares of coffee with an annual output between 380,000 and more than 400,000 tonnes.
