More than 240 Vietnamese citizens safely repatriated from Malaysia

VOV.VN - Bamboo Airways on September 14 conducted a flight to repatriate more than 240 Vietnamese citizens left stranded in Malaysia due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The flight was arranged by the Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, and relevant Malaysian agencies.

Passengers on board the flight included minors under 18, pregnant women, sick people with underlying health conditions, workers with expired labour contracts, and other especially disadvantaged cases.

The Vietnamese Embassy sent its staff to assist the passengers with necessary procedures before their departure.

Bamboo Airways strictly conducted measures to prevent the possible spread of the virus during the flight.

Upon landing at Cam Ranh airport in Khanh Hoa province, all crew members and passengers were given heath check-ups and quarantined in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

In the future, more flights will be arranged to bring home more Vietnamese citizens with disadvantaged circumstances, depending on their need and quarantine capacity at home.
