The National Press Prize Council of 2005 decided to award 83 prizes for individuals and groups on February 19 after a two-day sitting.

A group of Tuoi Tre newspaper journalists won first prize for their coverage of a large-scale campaign titled "Twenty years old forever." The campaign urged young people to follow the bright examples of a late hero who bravely sacrificed his live in the Anti-US War.

The 2005 Press Prize Council of the Vietnam Journalists' Association received 539 entries from individuals and groups from 78 grassroots-level councils.

The winners in six genres of press works were selected from 91 works from journalists and journalist groups submitted to the Prize Council by the primary examination board.
