VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has paid official visits to the Netherlands, Ireland and the UK at the invitation of the three governments.
During a visit to the Netherlands on April 18-20, Deputy PM Dung met Prime Minister Mark Rutte, |
Minister of Infrastructure and Environment Melanie Schultz, |
and first Special Envoy for International Water Affairs Henk Ovink. |
Mr Dung and Mr Schultz co-chaired the 6th meeting of the Vietnam-Netherlands intergovernmental committee on climate change adaptation and water management. |
The Deputy PM said the two countries have turned climate change challenges into opportunities of cooperation in agriculture, water management and education-training. |
Deputy PM Dung and Minister Schultz signed minutes of the meeting, agreeing that the 7th event will be held in Hanoi next year. |
Mr Dung had a working session with authorities from the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands on April 19 to study the European country’s experience in planning, building and operating seaports. |
He exchanged experience in seaport planning and development with leaders of NACO. |
Deputy PM Dung visited the Deltares Research Institute – a leading science application institute in the Netherlands in geology, environment, and delta. |
Mr Dung received Willem Hendrik Schuurman,Vietnam Honorary Consul to Amsterdam and Rotterdam. |
He visited the Vietnamese Embassy and met overseas Vietnamese community in the Netherlands. |
During a visit to Ireland on April 21-23, the Deputy PM discussed with President Michael D. Higgins issues of mutual concerns. |
He had working sessions with Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Michael Cree, and |
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Charles Flanagan. |

The Duke of York said he would assist Vietnam in building models for business connectivity and startup, thus helping Vietnamese small- and medium-sized enterprises develop and reap success on the global scale. |
Mr Dung met with leaders of UK businesses, including President of Jardine Matheson Group. |
Besides the meetings, Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung attended the Duke of York’s Pitch@Palace event, |
paid floral tribute to the late President Ho Chi Minh at the New Zealand House at No 80, Haymarket, where the late President worked in 1913, |
and visited the Vietnamese Embassy in London. |
