Vietnam to host Hong Kong Film Festival

(VOV) - Ho Chi Minh City will host Vietnam’s first-ever Hong Kong Film Festival from March 22–27.

Patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy eight of the best Hong Kong movies released over the past three years.

Fong Ngai, the director of ASEAN’s Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, spoke highly of Vietnam’s growing film industry and expressed his belief the festival will be greeted by an appreciative domestic audience.

He noted Vietnam and the Hong Kong Special Economic Zone have sustained close relations for many years. Vietnam is now Hong Kong’s 4th largest trade partner in ASEAN behind Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Two-way trade increased at an annual average of 30 percent during the last five years. One third of the rice Hong Kong consumes is imported from Vietnam.
