Some 13,300 high-school students and their teachers in Ho Chi Minh City began a month-long summer voluntary campaign on June 16.

During the campaign, the students will fan out to all 24 inner precincts and outlying districts of the city to persuade people to keep the environment clean, prevent dengue fever and observe traffic safety rules.

They will also organise summer activities for underprivileged children who are being cared for at the city’s 40 nursing centres.

In addition, the students will collect 50,000 textbooks for poor students, raise funds to build 12 houses, and present 50 bicycles, 300 scholarships and 200 sets of school tool for disadvantaged students.
