A contest about ASEAN for Hanoi high school pupils was jointly held by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on August 31.
64 teams tested their knowledge of ASEAN including the bloc’s chapter and policy as well as Vietnam’s role of in the region’s cooperation.
The contest is part of activities to disseminate information on the region to high school pupils and was initiated by the MoET in the year that Vietnam holds the ASEAN presidency. 2010 also marks 15 years since Vietnam became a member of the bloc and the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long Hanoi.
The MoET has implemented many programmes throughout the year to strengthen ties among countries in the region.
