The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has presented the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre with a film on digital technques to help restore Hue’s royal citadel.

This is part of a project to restore Hue’s relics using digital technology between the governments of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.

Shot since July 2007, the film employs 3D scanning techniques and computer graphics to store and present the images of works typical of Hue’s royal relics such as Ngo Mon (Noon Gate), Thai Hoa temple, and Ky Dai.

The film is expected to provide a precise analysis of the monuments so that they can be better restored back to their original state.
