Martyrs’ remains reburied in HCM City

Ho Chi Minh City held a service at the martyrs’ cemetery of Cu Chi district on June 5 to rebury 14 sets of remains of soldiers who died in the southeastern region during the war against the US.

The remains were collected in the precincts of the logistics board of Regiment 2, which is under Division 9 of Army Corps 4, in Phuoc Vinh An commune of Cu Chi district.

The memorial and reburial service expressed gratitude to the martyrs and educated the young on patriotism.

Regiment 2 was one of the first regular military units in the southeastern region’s battlefield. It has been bestowed with the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” twice.

More than 6,000 officers and soldiers of the regiment died during the war, and many of the martyrs have not been found.
