The Japanese government will continue to help Vietnam cope with October’s heavy rains and floods, which have caused enormous human and property losses in Vietnam’s central region, according to NHK.

According to an agreement reached last month, the Japanese Ministry of Land and Infrastructure has sent six experts to conduct a survey on floods in Vietnam. They have asked local authorities to identify specific areas affected by flooding and will use the information to propose preventive measures and plan roads for evacuating people from flood-prone areas.

*** The managing board of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Secondary School in Vientiane on November 3 delivered donations to the Vietnamese Embassy to be given to teachers and pupils in Vietnam’s central region.

Vietnamese Ambassador Luong Quoc Huy promised to send the money to the flood victims as soon as possible.
