Tay Ninh fosters cooperation ties with Cambodia’s Preyveng

Authorities and residents in southwest Tay Ninh province continually treasure the traditional friendship and solidarity with the neighbouring Cambodian province of Preyveng, said Secretary of the Tay Ninh Party’s Committee Vo Van Phuong.

During a reception on April 22 in Tay Ninh for his Cambodian counterpart So Bon Sa Rat and his delegation, Phuong expressed his hope that the two provinces would expand their cooperation across all fields.

Tay Ninh has seen an annual average 10.5% growth in GDP over the past five years, recording VND42.2 trillion (US$2 billion) in 2014 with an annual income per capita of US$2,360, according to Phuong.

The locality is now home to 224 foreign investment projects with total registered capital of nearly US$2.9 billion, and 355 domestic investment projects worth a total of VND37.5 trillion  (US$1.75 trillion).

Trade between Tay Ninh and Preyveng posted at US$1.2 billion in 2014. The Vietnamese province currently has four big projects operating in Cambodia.

For his part, So Bon Sa Rat, who is also Chairman of Pveyreng provincial Council, hoped the two sides would foster cooperative ties between the two Parties and authorities in tandem with delegation exchanges and experience sharing.

He also suggested Tay Ninh facilitate trade at the Tan Nam-Mon Cheay border gates and accelerate proposals to upgrade them to international border gates.
