The Chairman of the Lao committee, Khamphan Simmalavong, made this statement at a meeting in Hanoi on October with Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.

Khamphan Simmalavong briefed Anh on the delegation’s activities and results of cooperation between the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity and the Vietnam Peace Committee.

Anh highlighted the Lao people’s impressive achievements in national renewal, defence and construction, especially in the first year of implementation of the 9th Lao Party Congress Resolution.

He affirmed that Vietnam will join efforts with Lao to further strengthen the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity.

The Vietnamese official spoke highly of the Lao peace committee delegation’s visit to Vietnam and effective cooperation between the two committees in recent years.

He wished that the two peace committees would continue to coordinate and support each other at international and regional multilateral forums, for the sake of peace and security in the region and the rest of the world.
