Meeting for CLV Development Triangle opens

(VOV) -The 8th Meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee for the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Area opened in the Central Highland province of Kon Tum, Vietnam on December 7.

Ministers from the three countries praised the results of the recent 7th CLV Conference on Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion, which attracted 300 foreign and domestic delegates and businesses.

The conference offered numerous cooperation opportunities between cities and provinces in the region as well as in the three countries.

The three ministers spoke highly of the CLV Youth Forum’s Joint Statement and called for solidarity and activeness of the young generations to contribute to the area’s growth.

Delegates reviewed the implementation of the Joint Communiqué and agreements reached at the Summit for CLV Prime Ministers held in Cambodia in November 2010, the preferential policies, a socio-economic master plan for the Development Triangle Area and its cooperation with Japan.

They also examined the activities of four subcommittees, spanning Economy, Security-External Relations, Environment-Society and Local Coordination to seek out cooperative fields in 2013.
