The high-ranking government delegation of Vietnam led by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung left Copenhagen, where he attended the 15th UN climate change conference, on December 18, ending their visits to Russia and Denmark.
PM Dung’s working visit to Russia achieved important results with a number of agreements signed covering cooperation in oil and gas, energy, mining, security and national defence.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son said the PM’s visit to Russia was a more-than-expected success, affirming clearly the mutual trust between the two states and marking a turning-point and a new peak in Vietnam-Russia relations.

The PM’s speech delivered at the plenary session of the UN climate change conference were applauded by the international community and it was ranked among the first 10 receiving appreciation from the world public, said Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen.

Nguyen said on the sidelines of the conference, PM Dung and Vietnamese accompanying ministers held more than 30 bilateral meetings with leaders of participating nations and international organisations.

At these meetings, the government leader presented Vietnam’s views in response to climate change and rallied more funding for its efforts in this field.
