Vietnam to compete at regional senior chess tourney

Luu Duc Hai is Vietnam’s only entrant to the Asian Seniors Chess Championship for men over-50, over-65 and for women over 50 from October 25 to November 5 in Mandalay, Myanmar.

He was chosen after winning two gold and one bronze medals at the Southeast Asian Chess Championship in Pattaya, Thailand, in June.

Hai also took gold at the Hanoi Chinese Chess Championship early this month will take part in the men’s over-65 class.

The annual tournament debuted in 2010 with the first edition held in Iran.
