The Vietnamese Consulate General in Sydney, Australia, on June 14 received AUD9,000 from overseas Vietnamese to assist the victims of Typhoon Chanchu.

The overseas Vietnamese community in Australia has so far donated a total of AUD13,000 as relief to the victims via a support fund established by the Consulate General.

In mid-May, Typhoon Chanchu left at least 20 Vietnamese fishermen in central provinces dead and 220 others missing.
