The contest is aimed at encouraging professional and amateur photographers to take real photos of vivid contemporary lives and the ways that they are being changed by advances in IT and communications.

The concert’s panel of judges includes three experienced professional photographers from the Vietnam Artistic Photographers’ Association, three representatives from Alcatel-Lucent – a leading firm of IT and communications in France - and one from Venus Communications.

The first prize is VND10 million, the second prize is VND7 million and the third prize, VND4 million. Three other additional prizes – for the work receiving the highest votes, the photo taken by a mobile phone, and the piece with the most interesting name, will receive VND2 million each.

The organizing board began selecting photos on June 20 and will continue receiving entries until August 28, 2008. Winners will be announced through the mass media on September 15.
