The Overseas Vietnamese Union in France (UGVF) held a get-together and a concert on April 22 to raise funds in support of help Vietnamese AO/dioxin victims.

President of the UGVF, Vo Si Dan reviewed the union’s activities in supporting AO/dioxin victims in Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces since 2002. He also called for assistance from overseas Vietnamese and French friends. Professor Le Ba Binh, an overseas Vietnamese in Paris, adopted a child in Khanh Hoa province.


A documentary film by overseas Vietnamese director Nguyen Thanh Tong was screened on the occasion, highlighting the plights of AO/dioxin victims in the two central provinces.


The same day, a representative from the Collective Vietnam Dioxin announced a large scale programme which will be held in Paris and neighboring areas from April 26-29 to mark International Day for Victims of Chemical Weapons. The programme will be co-organized by the overseas Vietnamese in Paris, the France-Vietnam Friendship Association and other French associations.
