Foreign visitors to Vietnam in September totalled over 383,000, up 26 percent compared to last September, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).   

Visitors from Cambodia increased an amazing 92 percent.   

Those arriving by air numbered almost 303,500, 79 percent of the total and 36 percent more than last year.

There have been 3.7 million arrivals so far this year, up 34 percent against 2009.

Hoang Thi Diep, Deputy Head of the VNAT, said that with the celebration of the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, the number of foreign visitors over the rest of 2010 is expected to reach more than 400,000 per month, pushing the total for the year to 5 million.
