Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the content of three credit agreements with the French Development Agency (AFD) to carry out railway and flood prevention projects.

In a dispatch, issued on February 6, the PM authorised the Ministry of Finance to sign the agreements with the French agency and provide guidelines on implementation of the agreements. He also requested that relevant agencies execute commitments to the agreements according to the Ministry of Finance's guidance.

The above-mentioned projects engage in preventing flood from the Sai Gon River, building a railway route in Hanoi, which links a railway station in the outskirts district of Tu Liem with the Hanoi Railway Station, and upgrading a railway system from Yen Vien in Hanoi to the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai.
