The Russian leader pledged further cooperation with the re-elected PM Dung and the Vietnamese Government to increase comprehensive relations between the two countries and facilitate the deployment of joint major projects on energy, mechanical engineering, infrastructure, high technology, telecommunications, military technology and other industries.

Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjaijiva has also sent greetings to PM Dung on the occasion. 

King Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, President Nathan of Singapore and Finnish President Tarja Halonen have cabled greetings to newly elected State President Truong Tan Sang.
