Trinh Xuan Thanh continues rejecting “asset embezzlement” accusation
Trinh Xuan Thanh, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the PetroVietnam Construction Corporation (PVC), continued denying the “embezzlement of assets” during a trial for him and his accomplices on January 15.

The trial saw fierce arguments between prosecutors and Thanh’s lawyers.
Meanwhile, Luong Van Hoa, former Director of the Management Board of Vung Ang-Quang Trach project, Nguyen Anh Minh, former PVC Vice General Director, Vu Duc Thuan, former PVC General Director, and Bui Manh Hien, former head of PVC Office, continued confirming that Trinh Xuan Thanh initiated the idea of forming a “black fund” for domestic and external affairs.
As many as 16 lawyers registered to defend legitimate rights and interests of the defendants, six of them defend Thanh.
