NA Chairman meets Lang Son voters

(VOV) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on January 11 met with ethnic minority voters in Thien Ky commune, the most difficult commune in Huu Lung district, the northern mountainous province of Lang Son.

About 30 km west of Huu Lung district center, Thien Ky is mostly forest land with an inconvenient transport infrastructure. The commune comprises eight villages with 763 households of 7 ethnic groups, of which Cao Lan makes up nearly 44 percent. Nearly half of the households in the commune are poor.

Hung visited Martyr Mother Tran Thi Tu, a 76-year old poor Cao Lan woman, in Lang Trang village. He asked the commune authorities to pay attention to the local people’s material and spiritual life so as to ensure that nobody in the commune will be hungry or cold, especially in harsh weather conditions.

Hung also visited Thien Ky commune medical station. After learning about the station’s material facilities and capacity, he asked leaders of Lang Son province and Huu Lung district to upgrade the station to improve the quality of healthcare services for locals.

Earlier, the NA Chairman visited soldiers in Po Ma border post (Trang Dinh District), a hero of the people's armed forces, which is protecting more than 21 km of the northeast borderline.

He asked the border guards to take regular training and enhance political stuff to fulfill their tasks, thus deserving the trust from the Party, State and people.
