MHI Aerospace Vietnam (MHIVA)’s aircraft manufacturing plant has begun operation to produce wing flaps for the US aviation company Boeing at Hanoi’s Bac Thang Long Industrial Park.

The is the first aircraft manufacturing plant in Vietnam specializing in producing wing flaps for Boeing 737 aircraft with total investment capital of US$11 million.

The factory is recruiting around 50 local workers who will be sent to Japan for an 11-month training course on how to produce spare parts for aircrafts.

MHIVA will assemble the wing flaps for two to eight aircraft each month in 2009 and 2010 and for 10 aircraft by 2010.

The factory is wholly invested in by Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries – MHIVA’s parent company.
