Vietnam – Japan guitar exchange to take place in Hanoi
VOV.VN -A free-entrance Vietnam-Japan guitar exchange concert is to be held at Vietnam National Academy of Music on November 18 in a string of activities marking Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20).
The highlight of the event is a performance of top Japanese guitarist Tomonori Arai who will play six compositions- Saudade No3, Capricho Arabe, Variations Mignonnes, Prelude No1, Yupanqui Variations, and Hommage a Pink Floyd.
Interesting performances will be given by talented solo guitarist Nguyen Van Phuc and Vietnamese artists from Vietnam National Academy.
Tomonori Arai was born in Shibuya, Tokyo and started his guitar studies at six. Tomonori has won many prizes at numerous guitar competitions.
His recordings include solo CDs, "Abrir" "Castillos de Espana" "Simple Essence," guitar trio "Harpo Rhythm, and guitar duo “The Summer Islands” (Wood note studio, 2011) with Gen Matsuda and “Aqua in Summer Countries” (2014) with Hitoshi Miyashita.
He is currently a teacher at Ueno Gakuen University and the Gendai Guitar Academy.
