Brazil's Representative House Speaker Aldo Rebelo praised Vietnam’s tremendous achievement in the current process of renovation and its important role in the region and the world. Brazil regards Vietnam as a bridge for boosting co-operation with Asia as well as with the ASEAN bloc for the sake of peace, stability and development in the region.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An and his entourage hold talks on March with Brazil's Representative House Speaker Aldo Rebelo on the second day of their official visit to Brazil.

During their talks, the two leaders agreed to support the two governments with specific solutions towards long-term and comprehensive co-operation, especially in the area of economics, trade and investment to serve the mutual benefit of the two countries.

They agreed upon a common principle that requires the two parliaments to take practical activities to improve the quality of legislative operations and create a reasonable environment for the two countries to further boost relations.

They agreed to promote exchange visits to share information and experience related to parliamentary activities, law building and supervision, law enforcement and mutual support at multilateral forums.

The fine relations provide a key foundation for the two countries to expand their bilateral co-operation in economics, trade, science and technology, culture and education. Vietnam boasts great potential in natural and human resources while Brazil is one of the developed countries in Latin America seeking co-operation with Asia as well as with the ASEAN bloc. Therefore, further tapping the potential of each country will help bring more benefits to the two peoples, Mr An noted.

For his part, Mr Rebelo praised Vietnam’s tremendous achievement in the current process of renovation and its important role in the region and the world.
