Vietnamese wrestlers win two SEA Games gold medals

(VOV) -Vietnam’s Bui Tuan Anh and Nguyen The Anh have both claimed SEA Games men’s freestyle wrestling gold medals with victories in Myanmar on December 12.

Nguyen The Anh beat his Indonesian rival 11-4 in the 60kg division, while teammate Bui Tuan Anh dominated his Filipino opponent 7-0 in the 66kg division.

*** Vietnamese Pencak Silat artist Le Sy Kien advanced to the final round of the men’s 85kg division after thrashing his Singaporean rival.

*** In the women’s 51kg boxing, Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Yen beat her Lao opponent to progress to the finals.

*** The Vietnamese women’s futsal team won their December 12 match against Indonesia, continuing their competition-leading two match winning streak. The team now faces Thailand.

*** Vietnamese badminton player Vu Thi Trang defeated Singapore’s Chen Jiayuan 2-1 (21-19, 18-21, 21-17) in their women’s singles match. Her teammate Nguyen Tien Minh beat Thailand’s Avihingsanon 2-0 to enter the men’s singles semifinals.
