12 topiary animals to welcome Tet at Hanoi park

VOV.VN - 12 animal sculptures planted with ornamental shrubs and flowers are being put on display at Thong Nhat (Reunification) Park in Hanoi to welcome the upcoming traditional Lunar New Year (Tet).

Workers are busy creating the animal sculptures out of plants and flowers at Thong Nhat Park. Pictured is the impressively large and verdant tiger.

The bushy mouse is watered regularly to keep it in top condition.

Workers are finishing the frames of the sculptures before embedding them with plants to represent the 12 animals of the zodiac.

A colourful rooster with a beak and comb made from tightly wound rope.

The frame of each animal is built out of steel before being covered with plants and flowers. Pictured is a tall leafy snake.

The verdant animal designs attract much attention from local people.

Each topiary animal is 2-3m tall.

The dog – the symbol for 2018 – is yet to be finished for display.


The pig is receiving its final few plants, which flourish in the rich soil within its body.

The buffalo. This is the second time Hanoi has erected the 12 topiary animals vibrantly decorated with plants and flowers to welcome Tet.
