Politburo member Truong Tan Sang says the Party is always ready to help artists and writers understand Party and State policies and offer them assistance and encouragement in creating artistic works.
The Party respects the artists’ freedom to create, Sang said at the Eighth Congress of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Art Associations held in downtown Hanoi on September 23.
Mr Sang expressed his hope that high-quality literature and art will be produced that is worthy of Vietnam’s previous great achievements.
The Congress was attended by more than 500 delegates representing nearly 40,000 artists nationwide.
Participants included leaders of the Party, State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Poet Huu Thinh was elected President of the Union for its 8th term.
