Vietnamese Buddhist followers have donated 100 tonnes of rice to the victims of Cyclone Nargis which hit Myanmar in early May.

The contribution was in response to the appeal of the Vietnam Red Cross.

The Prime Minister has entrusted the Ho Chi Minh City Food Company to work directly with the Social Charity Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Central Committee to bring the relief to Myanmar cyclone victims.
