Vietnam routs Cambodia at Mekong Football Championship

(VOV) -In semi-final competition of the 2014 Toyota Mekong Club Championship running from October 31 to November 2, the Vietnam Becamex Binh Duong squad handily defeated rival Phnompenh Crown FC from Cambodia, 5-2.

Becamex Binh Duong football player Abass opened the scoring in the 3rd minute of the first set followed by a second goal of striker Trong Hoang scored in minute 41 to quickly get the match off to a 2-0 romp.

Striker Koen Bosma pulled back one goal for PPCFC in minute 66, but Binh Duong Oseni Bolaji of Becamex quickly countered with a third goal in the 77th minute. In the remaining time, strikers of Becamex Binh Duong Le Cong Vinh and Nguyen Tang Tuan clinched the win with two more scores.

PPCFC never gave up and added a goal by their striker Bisan from a close range shot in the 4th minute of stoppage time, to finish the game at 5-2.

Host Becamex Binh Duong will play Ayeyawady United (Myanmar) who beat Hoang Anh Attapeu (Lao) 4-2 after a penalty shootout in another semi-final match the same day.

The final match is set for November 2.
