A December 27 conference in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang reached the conclusion after reviewing the implementation of the ADB project in 10 northern and central provinces, which were hardly hit by floods and storms in 2005.

The project had a total capital of US$95.01 million, of which US$80.41 million was provided by the ADB. 

It has been carried out from 2007 and all its capital has been disbursed from the bank, restoring normal living conditions for local people and upgrading essential infrastructure facilities in the northern provinces of Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, and Nam Dinh and the central provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Phu Yen.

Addressing the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Van Thang affirmed the success of the project and asked beneficiary localities to build on the positive results of the project.
