Two footballers from the national squad, Van Thi Thanh and Pham Thanh Luong will play a friendly with pupils from Lieu Giai school in Hanoi on April 20.

The match is part of many nationwide activities in response to the Global Action Week for Education, called "financing quality public education: a right for all" from 19-25 April.

This year’s event will be jointly held by the Ministry of Education and Training and international and domestic organisations such as UNESCO, Action Aid, Childfund, the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Trade, and the Vietnam Football Federation.

The “One Goal Lesson For All” campaign will also be launched at the Football World Cup in South Africa with numerous football stars worldwide taking part.

It is expected to provide education for 72 million children who are still missing out on school worldwide.
