An exhibition on Cham ethnic heritage opened in the central city of Da Nang on May 24.

The exhibition shows the Cham Museum’s efforts to restore and gather documents on the Kate festival, as well as restore traditional costumes and musical instruments from July 2005 to March 2006 under a US$25,000 project funded by the US Embassy in Hanoi.

The Cultural Preservation Fund of the US embassy also financed some other similar projects aimed at preserving lacquer paintings by the Hanoi Fine Arts Museum and restoring Hy Hoa temple in Hoi An, Zau pagoda, and then singing of the Tay ethnic group at a total capital of US$68,500.
