Youth boost Vietnam-Czech ties

The 6th congress of the Vietnamese Youth Association in Czech took place in Prague on December 19 to promote relations between youngsters of the two countries.

Vietnamese Ambassador Truong Manh Son highlighted the crucial role of young generations in the future of the Vietnamese community in Czech, and pledged to further facilitate the association’s activities in the coming time.

The Congress elected an executive board of 33 people for the 2015-2019 tenure, including one president and eight vice presidents.

Established 20 years ago, the association has made substantial contributions to connecting Vietnamese students with their peers in the host’s cities and provinces.

It has also encouraged Vietnamese youngsters to engage in activities to popularise the Vietnamese culture and enhance cultural exchanges between the two countries.

In additional to hosting a language day in Europe, the association has built a programme to teach the Czech language for Vietnamese expatriates on social network.

The association is now home to over 300 members active in 14 provinces across the Czech Republic. It was officially recognised by the host country in October 2015.
