54 outstanding businesses honoured

(VOV) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade held a ceremony in Hanoi on January 7 to grant the National Trademark award 2012 to 54 outstanding businesses.

Addressing the award ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai praised them for securing the national trademarks despite difficulties over the year.

The Deputy PM described 2013 as a challenging year for businesses and called for greater efforts to improve management skills and expand markets. He asked all businesses to boost exports while improving the quality of products to win consumer trust in response to the campaign “Vietnamese people using Vietnamese goods”.

He said it is the responsibilities of both businesses and the Government to closely cooperate in the development of trademark.

The President of the Vietnam National Trademark Council (VNTC) and Minister of Industry and Trade, Vu Huy Hoang, said the national trademark programme aims to turn Vietnam into a prestigious nation with diverse and high quality products and services, and to improve competitive capacity for Vietnamese products in both domestic and international market in the context of international integration.

The focus of the programme is on the core values of quality, renovation, creativity and pioneering to make businesses better aware of developing and protecting trademarks.

The national trademark winners are operating in various fields of engineering, machinery and equipment, garments and textiles, leather footwear, electronics, jewelry, pharmaceutical products, rubber, plastics, agro-forestry-aquatic products, finance and banking, food, trade and services.

They include Truong Hai Automobile Joint Stock company, Southern Battery Joint Stock Company, Nha Be Garment Corporation, Garment 10 Corporation, Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, and Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company etc.
