Venezuela President Hugo Chavez will visit Vietnam in late July to learn Vietnam’s experiences in national construction and defence and further develop solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

The announcement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Dzung at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on July 13.


On the occasion, the two sides will also discuss measures to promote co-operative ties in such fields as economics, trade and investment, energy, mining, agriculture, culture, education and training.


*** Lao foreign minister Thongloun Sisoulit will visit Vietnam from July 17-19, Mr Dzung further said.


The visit aims to consolidate the close relationship between high-ranking officials of the two countries and affirm policies on strengthening solidarity, friendship and economic co-operation.


During his stay, Mr Sisoulit will hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem, and pay courtesy visits to State President Nguyen Minh Triet, and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dzung.

The Lao delegation will also visit the Ministry of Planning and Investment and HCM City.
