The British American Tobacco (BAT) Joint Venture Company in Vietnam has teamed up with the National Agriculture Promotion Centre to transfer advanced farming techniques to farmers in localities facing difficulties.

Started in 2004, the project has benefited as many as 500 farmers in the Central Highlands provinces of Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Dak Nong, southern Tay Ninh province, and northern Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces.

For the 2006-2010 period, BAT and the National Agriculture Promotion Centre aim to expand the project, targeting the poor and especially ethnic minority farmers.
