Vietnam is striving to build a law-governed state for all people through a series of programmes being implemented on legislative, administrative and juridical reforms.

That was the message delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong at the opening ceremony of the 10th conference of the Asia Ombudsman Association (AOA) in Hanoi on April 26.

The deputy PM also stressed the importance of Vietnam's special attention to strengthen law enforcement throughout the country.

Together with building and developing a socialist-oriented market economy, Vietnam has attached importance to administrative and managerial reforms, he added.

He said one of the country's major tasks is to improve the quality of audits, inspections, settlements of denouncement and complaints and anti-corruption efforts.

The three-day conference, which attracted 120 domestic and international representatives from the AOA, the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) and the ASEAN and northern European inspection agencies, is to help AOA's members improve the role of inspection agencies in dealing with denouncement and complaints and corruptive behaviours.
